'Man of Steel' earns $125.1 million for biggest June opening ever
Sun Jun 16, 2013
The irrelevence of the article is its boast. On the face, box office dollars are not a suitable statistic to boast about. Were tickets $1 million dollars each? What matters is total tickets sold. Also, to also state that 60+ % of the sales were to age 25+, is silly. Mos …
Robert Downey Jr. makes toddler cry by not being Iron Man
Fri Jun 14, 2013
We can only hope that the infant was never exposed to the live action movies although he is far too young for the cartoons as well. Incidentally, for those of you who don't get it, desensitization to violence is not a good thing, it is a bad thing.
Teacher screens 'Saw' for 6th-grade class, gets suspended

Not approrpiate. I want my kids first movie related nightmares to be on my head not anyone else's. This is why I am displeased that my little boy's school took it upon themselves to give the kids a choice of movies, none of which approved by me. Even rated G is not license to deter …
Should American restaurants abolish tipping?
Tue Jun 11, 2013
I worked in the industry for quite a few years. The vast majority of effort to provide the meal to t he customer comes from the kitchen staff. The waiting staff do very little relative to them. If tips are given then they must go into a pool and be distributed fairly, probably 75% …

Bloomberg is one fo the few people to stand up for the responsible citizens. You should be hailing him not castigating him. His actions are to protect those of us who are tired of footing the bills for those who have no self control. Unhealthy people cost us more in the workplace a …
Simon Cowell gets egged during 'Britain's Got Talent' finale
Sun Jun 9, 2013
Simon Cowell is an extremely savvy professional in the music industry. He has an excllent eye for talent and the lack there of. People who disagree with him ttned to be ignorant about one's potential or simply tone deaf. Riffing is not talent nor is painfully jumping about the scal …
Lawmakers: Americans don't know how carefully the government is watching
Sun Jun 9, 2013
I can't bring myself to read through all of the preceding several hundred comments as far to many in the first one hundred are drivel. If you want a Constitution challenge, that's fine and an important part of our nation's process.
Game of spoilers: Social media is killing DVR culture
Sat Jun 8, 2013
It's not front page news. Well, it was front page news when this episode (of Dynasty) originally aired in 1985.
Good manners results in fortune for Florida powerball winner
Wed Jun 5, 2013
I truly wish they had not written this article. Undoubtedly it will discourage some people from being courteous, which is all too rare already. However, it is probably just as likely that anyone considering being inconsiderate as a reaction to this story is already prone to being inconsiderate.
Moldy strawberries? Not for 9 days with UV LEDs
Tue Jun 4, 2013
I'm not sure this makes sense. "Treatment with ultraviolet light exacerbated existing damage in the strawberries even while inhibiting mold growth."
